Yoko-sutemi-waza (side sacrifice techniques) sacrifice toward the side to throw uke with rolling or wheeling motion.
Description
A technique to throw down the opponent by drawing him closer, turning the body, hooking the right leg around his left leg from the inside and raising the leg forward while laying down the body with him. (Kodokan definition)
Key points
- Draw uke closer; turn the body.
- Hook your leg around uke’s leg from the inside.
- Raise the leg and lie down with uke to throw. Note: This technique is restricted in competition.
