Shime-waza Shime-waza - Choke

Description

A technique to choke the opponent’s neck region by crossing the wrists from the front gripping his left side-collar with four fingers of the left hand inside and the right side-collar with right thumb inside, pulling the left hand and pushing the right hand. (Kodokan definition)

Key points

  1. Cross wrists; one hand thumb inside, other four fingers inside.
  2. Pull one hand and push the other to apply choke.
  3. Apply pressure to both sides of the neck.
