Te-waza (hand techniques) use the arms and upper body to break balance and complete throws.

Description

A technique to reap and throw down the opponent by holding both of his legs from the outside in both hands. (Kodokan definition)

Key points

  1. Break uke’s balance or catch him stepping.
  2. Wrap both arms around both legs from the outside.
  3. Reap and drive forward to throw.
