Koshi-waza Throw

Description

A technique to load the opponent onto the back of the hip and throw him down by breaking his balance forward and inserting the right arm through his left armpit while holding his hip and drawing it closer. (Kodokan definition)

Key points

  1. Break uke’s balance forward.
  2. Insert arm through armpit; hold uke’s hip.
  3. Load uke onto the back of the hip.
  4. Throw by extending and twisting.
