Description

A technique to throw down the opponent by counteracting his Uchi-mata attempt either to reap or hook his pivot foot from the outside with the foot or leg. (Kodokan definition)

Key points

  1. When uke attempts uchi-mata, avoid or counter.
  2. Reap or hook uke’s pivot foot from the outside.
  3. Throw uke down.
